At the Animal Emergency Clinic of the Fraser Valley we are dedicated to the emergency and critical care of companion animals and exotic pets during the hours in which your family verterinarian is unavailable. We are a fully equipped clinic, staffed by experienced and caring individuals. We have a veterinarian and technical support staff on duty at all times while the clinic is open. Our clinic accepts emergencies from all areas of the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.

Your Family Veterinarian
We have been working in direct cooperation with your family veterinarian since 1996. Your family veterinarian works hard to ensure that you and your pet receive the best care and attention at all times. That is why he or she, may have referred you to our clinic. We regularly discuss patient care with your veterinarian to allow the best possible ongoing and follow-up care. We are also available during our regular hours to answer any questions or concerns that you or your veterinarian may have.

Cat Boarding
 We are pleased to now offer medical related boarding. If you are planning a get-away, and have a cat that requires special care and/or medications (ie diabetics, renal failure or urinary tract disease, medicine dependent heart conditions, etc), let us take care of him or her in our Mt.Baker view "suites" and "beachside" exercise room.Click here for more information.

What To Expect At Our Clinic

  • We are an after hours emergency and critical care hospital.
  • All patients are triaged upon arrival. Life threatening emergencies or those seriously ill are assessed and treated immediately. This may mean that you and your pet may have to wait to be seen by a veterinarian.
  • We will provide you with a written estimate once the Doctor on duty has assessed the patient. We will advise you if conditions change or additional treatment or procedures are required.
  • We appreciate that you may want to visit with your pet during his/her stay with us. Due to the nature of our facility we do not have specific visiting hours. Please contact us to determine a suitable time.
  • We require that at least 50% of your estimate be put down as a deposit.
  • Payment is due in full at the time the patient is discharged from our hospital.
  • Our clinic closes at 9am Tuesday through Friday. Patients must be picked up prior to 9am these days.
  • In most cases, lab results can be expected within 24 hours.
  • We will provide your regular veterinarian with the medical records for your animal's stay at our clinic in addition to sending you with any x-rays that were taken.

Fees

In order to provide the highest quality of emergency and critical care during all clinic hours, an emergency fee is charged in addition to a consultation fee. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Care Credit, cash, and Interac. If your pet requires hospitalization, we will provide you with an estimate of the costs. A 50% deposit is required upon admission to the hospital and the balance is due at the time of discharge.

If you have any financial concerns, please do not hesitate to discuss this with our veterinarian on duty or other staff members in advance. We accept numerous Pet Insurance Plans as well as Medicard.
