We Love Our RVTs!!

October is RVT month!  What is an RVT?

RVT – Registered Veterinary Technician, or in other words a registered/licensed nurse, like in the human medical field except add to that lab technician and x-ray technician.

Having RVTs in a veterinary practice in British Columbia is voluntary. Since the day we started AECFV in 1996, we have been committed to always having RVTs on EVERY shift in an effort to help us maintain the high standard of care we set for ourselves. We feel extremely proud to have one of the best teams of RVTs in all of BC!

To appreciate what our technicians do on a day to day basis, one just needs to observe them for a few minutes. An emergency setting such as ours is high energy and can be high stress. The level that our technicians work at is about as high as it gets in the veterinary medical field. Not only is our team highly skilled, they are exactly that…A TEAM! It’s not just about coming to work, do your job and go home. It’s much more than that. It is about being a leader, being compassionate and empathetic, being a mentor to newer staff and other supporting positions, staying until the job is done, continually looking at ways to raise the standards bar with patient and client care and working closely with owners and management to help maintain the best working environment possible.

We have a large team of RVTs that are a vital part of making us who we are (together with our management, reception, veterinary assistants and of course our doctors). To say we are proud of our technicians is an understatement!

In celebration and recognition of RVT Month, each and every one of our technicians will receive a gift card of their choice and on top of that we will do a draw for a day-of-with-pay!
