What Registered Veterinary Technologists do..

A registered veterinary technologist (also referred to as animal health technician, or AHT) is an individual who is professionally trained in a college program for two or three years to earn a RVT diploma. Even though it’s not mandated in BC, we have made the commitment to have RVT’s on all shifts. These animal health professionals must satisfy continuing education requirements throughout their career in order to maintain their certification. Veterinary technologists provide the best front-line care needed for patients to recover from illness and injury and are the equivalent of a registered nurse in human medicine.
